The main purpose of the thermosyphon system is to support Mechanical seals and removing heat from the double seal.The thermosyphon vessel contains the buffer fluid supplied to double-acting mechanical seals to compensate for leakage, and serves to cool the fluid inside the sealing system.The system is operating either with or without pressure. Circulation of the sealing liquid is achieved by the natural circulation or is forced.
A system consists of a thermosyphon vessel, a refill unit, measuring instruments for visual monitoring of operating temperature and pressure, a level switch and a circulator unit.

The cyclone is a separator with no moving parts. There is nothing to adjust. In operation, the Cyclone separator uses centrifugal force to spin abrasive particles from the liquid which flows on to the mechanical seals on rotating shafts, Solids as small as a few microns in diameter are separated and removed. Only cleaned fluid reaches the rubbing surfaces. Feed from the pump discharge is piped into the inlet which enters tangential to the cyclone cone. The liquid therefore rotates at a high velocity, very much like a whirlpool. Sand, dirt and other very fine particles are thrown to the wall of the cyclone and pass downward and out the underflow discharge. Cleaned liquid spins into the center of the cyclone and is forced upward and out the overflow discharge. This clean stream is then routed through tubing to the place of usage-the mating surfaces of the mechanical shaft seal.

The heat exchangers used in the field of sealing technology are employed for cooling of the sealing liquids circulating through sealing systems. The main criteria for selecting a heat exchanger are pressure range, materials of construction and cooling performance. Heat exchangers should have a vent connection at the housing side (cooling water end) and on the piping side (sealing liquid end), and they should be mounted such that the air can escape at the highest point of the sealing system. The pressure loss in the heat exchanger must be taken into account when designing the device employed to circulate the sealing liquid.
